amba history
Created by Ambassador Hotels, the amba brand was launched in 2012 to coincide with the group’s celebration of 50 years of luxury hospitality.
One of Taiwan’s most admired and successful companies, Ambassador developed the first international-standard luxury hotel in Taiwan in 1962. The group celebrated the 50th anniversary milestone and thanked the community with a series of special events and new products at Ambassador hotels in Taipei, Hsinchu, and Kaohsiung.

The first hotel in the amba collection, amba TAIPEI XIMENDING, was unveiled in February 2012 and has become a top rated Zhongshan hotel in Taipei.
In September 2012, Wallpaper* nominated amba BEST BUSINESS HOTELS 2012 Shortlisted, and described the hotel as one of the best new openings around the world. International, intelligent and influential, Wallpaper* is the world’s most important design and lifestyle magazine brand.
A homegrown international-standard design hotel, amba is the result of collaboration between some of Taiwan’s hottest architects, designers, artists, music stylists and mixologists. amba TAIPEI ZHONGSHAN
opening 2015
Scheduled to open in 2015, amba TAIPEI ZHONGSHAN hotel is located in the popular Zhongshan commercial, shopping, and entertainment district.
The new amba hotel on Zhongshan North Road will feature 90 rooms, an all day dining restaurant, and a music lounge. With easy access to transportation, the hotel is just five minutes' walk to Taipei Metro Zhongshan Station and one metro stop from Taipei Main Station for high speed rail.
The Zhongshan area offers a wide selection of cute little restaurants and recreational options, including Zhongshan Metro Mall, an extensive underground shopping mall which stretches from Taipei Main Station to Shuanglian Station.
amba TAIPEI SONGSHAN
opening 2015
amba TAIPEI SONGSHAN hotel is scheduled to open on top of Taipei’s new Songshan Railway Station complex in 2015.
Offering spectacular river views in a modern setting, amba TAIPEI SONGSHAN will offer 189 rooms and an all day dining restaurant.
The new amba hotel will not only make a refreshing addition to the Songshan area, but also a convenient base for those visiting the Xinyi and Nangang districts. The hotel will be just five minutes’ drive to Taipei World Trade Center and Taipei 101, only one stop away from Nangang via Taiwan Rail, and two stops from Taipei Arena when the Taipei Metro Songshan Line comes online in 2014.
amba KENTING
opening 2016
Scheduled to open in 2016, amba KENTING resort will be located on Kenting Street, just one minute walk from the pristine Dawan Beach. The eco-friendly resort will feature 130 rooms, an all day dining restaurant, a multipurpose function room, and a rooftop swimming pool.
Ideal for a relaxing beach vacation, Kenting of Pingtung County is in the southern-most tip of Taiwan. It is blessed with lovely weather year-round, and is famous for its beautiful beaches and stunning landscape.
